What is a smart home?
Lights that come on by themselves when it gets dark. Heating that turns down while you are on holiday. One screen showing how much power your solar panels generate and what the washing machine uses.
Why keep everything at home?
Most smart devices send everything over the internet to a company in America or China. If that company goes bust or drops a product, your lights may stop working. And the company knows exactly when you are at home.
I work with a small box that sits in your home. That is where everything happens. Your data stays in your house. And everything keeps working if the internet goes down.
What I do for you
- I look at what you already have. Many lights, thermostats and smart meters can simply be connected.
- I install the box and set everything up.
- I make a simple screen with only the buttons you actually use.
- I look after it. Updates, a backup copy of your settings and help when something does not work.
Examples
- An overview of your electricity use and solar panels. Then you can see the best time to run the washing machine.
- An alert on your children’s phones if there has been no movement at your home in the morning. That can give peace of mind, without a camera.
- Outside lights that come on at sunset.
- Front door cameras that record inside your own home, not with an American company.
I visit you at home anywhere in the province of Utrecht to install everything, with no call-out charge. Usually that is on a Saturday.
